I am a natural blond and every 6 mo. Or so I have lowlts and highlts done. The last time I went she didn't give me enough contrast and I thought it was way to light. Four weeks ago I went to my stylist and requested darker lowlts to give me more depth. What a mistake. Instead of giving me contrast, my entire head of hair was dk brown with no visible highlts. She said it would lighten after several shampoos. Well, 4 weeks later it has lightened but has lightened to a reddish color. I'm not going back to her and I'm nervous about anymore chemical applications at this point. Would one of those fanciful rinses in perhaps ash blond tone down this ridulous shade. I am a cool skin toned gal all the way. Can't do the warm shades. I just want my cool blond shade back. Thanks for any advice.

If you have your hair done at a salon, and they mess up, you are entitled to a refund or a re-do. I suggest giving the same person another change to fix this. It is something that happens very often. Usually it will lighten after a few washes, but maybe your hair type takes easily to red.

I was trying to turn my black hair back to blonde. And no home products took on it. I used a highlight kit and my hair is back to beach blonde. Usually it just goes orange for me, its just the way my hair takes to color. So sometimes it works 100%, other times it is a disaster. For now, just breathe... and go with your gut: go back to the salon, a new stylist, or keep it the way it is for a while. Your choice.

PS Jessica Alba had red-blonde hair for a while now. She had to make her hair blonde for Sin City 2 and another movie, and even this Hollywood actress seemed to have had a bad experience. She gone back to a browner color, and I am scheming she will go blonde again after that. It doesn't make her less pretty. Change is always great. If we all had the same color hair, the world would have been a pretty boring place. :)
