When I turn on termostat to heat with blower fan on auto, the blower will not come on, but when I go to just fan it comes on. You can smell the heater coils working but blower will not blow in auto.

If this is a electric furnace the sequencer or relay that controls the blower motor in the regular heat mode is defective. Take a meter and trace down the ofending circuit and replace part with like same.
