Kenmore side by side refrigerator won't start
I moved a kenmore 19.6 cu ft side by side fridge a couple days ago. Moved it laying on it's back. I stood it upright the next day and left it sitting over that night before plugging it in. It started and I left it running for about an hour before checking it. It had stopped and efforts to start it again have failed. I hear a low click but nothing starts. Need info please

I'll answer my own post. After looking at a lot of web sites, I took the back cover off to check the compresser leads with an ohm meter. I got power to the comp relay and was about to check from the other side of the relay when the thing started working. I had unplugged the blower earlier so I plugged it back in and so far, so good. This might help someone else.

The fridg needed a new "hard start" relay for the compressor.

You were lucky. Don't ever lay a refrigerator or freezer horizontal. Compressor oil will run into the lines of the condenser coil. Then due to the shape and turns it often can not run back when you stand it up. The oil then blocks the capillary tube. You were lucky, don't ever lay a one down.

Also the compressor motor is inside the can you see. The motor and pump sit on springs. If you lay it down you can break a spring.
