I would like to know how to make a runescape private server:confused:

Srry I'm new to this place. Did not know they had spell check.

There's a few things you'll need.

• A shed load of $$$$$'s
• Some serious hardware
• Loads of bandwidth
• More $$$$$'s
• Runescapes permission to do this as it is copyrighted

Running a games server isn't a simple case of putting a computer online there's a lot of other things that need to be considered.

Well you could probably make a private server for a few friends quite easily... but it kind of defeats the point of a MMORPG

By "easily" I mean "easier than what Curlyben is proposing, but still nearly impossible"

Capuchin, that would be illigal. The work of "runescape" is a trademark of jagex ltd.
However, some games (diablo II for an instance) lets you host a private server, but not to alter code ( wich might be killj0s intentions)

That's what I mean. Without altering their code, just get it to connect to a different server through proxy or whatever. I wouldn't know how to do it but I'm sure it is possible and probably legal.

Its not possible, jagex has the code locked up (kindof). Its just not worth it. Logging in on a almost empty server is better: the world of "runescape" is so big that you can go very far w/o meeting anyone.

Oh yes granted. Not arguing with you at all. Just that it IS possible albeit very hard.

You need a good connection that's it you don't need to pay money

What you mean by members like can you wear dragon items then answer is yes you get to do what ever you want just like real runescape but there is no differents between member and nonmember you get to do every thing you want

I don't get what curlyben was talking about...

It is possible to make a server for free and its quite easy here is a tutorial on doing it here

Look up moparscape first. It might not be runescape but its just as good. Lol well anyway, download and install moparscape. You might find a link somewhere that takes you to a big list of private servers for the game, and at the top it will say "creat a server"creat the server and type in an IP. There yea go. Just let it confirm the server and wait for people to use it
