    Breaking a lease in Ohio
I curretnly live outside of Columbus, OH and still havea good 6 months left on my lease. However, I just got a new job and need to relocate back to Philadelphia, PA. They want close to $4,000 to break my lease. What are my options?

    Hello W:

You have three: (1) Pay, (2) find a tenant, or (3) get sued.

    1. try and talk them into a lower amount to settle.

    2. pay them

    3. as noted just don't pay them and see if they sue you, then you will have to pay the full lease costs that they have plus legal fees. If this is an apartment with no empty units, then they will most likely rent it out fast,

So trying to sub rent it may work
