I suspect you will need to post your Honda car/truck model to get an accurate response from someone with experience lowering that model. In the meantime, read Car Lowering 101.

Can I make a suggestion and say don't do it, cut springs are dangerous, I'm all for modifying a car but do it right and you won't have any issues down the track! :)

I am wanting to try out cutting coil springs to lower my honda. What are some lengths that I should cut the metal on the coil springs to make my Honda's ride height 1-2 inches lower? I know I shouldn't cut them and go buy lowering kits BUT I want to try it by cutting them.:)
