Heating Unit Making a Buzzing Sound
I have a trane heat only unit for a 1 bedroom apartment. It is making a buzzing sound. When I take the faceplate off the unit the buzzing stops. This is due to a black switch that is pushed in when the faceplate is on the unit. When the faceplate is not on the unit the switch releases and the buzzing stops. When I push on the switch the buzzing starts. The heat switch on the thermostat has not been on when the buzzing noise was happening. I put the heat on and the buzzing noise is still there and the heat works. Can someone tell me what is causing this noise?

I tried to get the model # of the unit but I can't find it. Does someone know where they put the model # on these trane units?

It sounds like the low voltage transformer. They buzz when the laminate plates are loose. They get that way because they are made cheap. If you can put up with the noise the transformer will last a long time with the buzz.
