Mother died in Indiana no will four surviving children
My mother died in December 2007, my three siblings were all in jail the day she died. My brother hired an attorney when released and had a friend of his become personal rep. for my mother's estate, he couldn't because of his criminal record. She the (PR) now claims she was my mother's sister in court. I paid the utilities and household bills for three months, submitted claims to be reimbursed for $1400.00, now the PR and attorney are offering me $172.00 to settle my claim. Is this fair. Estate value at $90,000.

    No Will?

Then then the expenses would be paid and the balance divided four ways - you would all get the same share.

Your brother alone couldn't "appoint" a personal representative for the estate. Something else had to be going on.

What other details do you know?
