GE Profile Refrigerator Freezer Defrost Problems
I have a 2006 GE Profile "Artica" refrigerator that will not defrost consistently and has a freezer temperature that varies from -6 degrees to +18 degrees. The door gasket seals tight and the refrigerator compartment holds a steady 36 degrees. It is a model PSC23PSTA SS. The serial # is VL422071. Any suggestions?

It's one of these three things that has gone wrong:

    1. Defrost heater faulty.
    2. Defrost limit switch faulty.
    3. Defrost timer faulty.

It's usually the timer switch that goes first.

If you have a multitester you can test each part and see which part went bad and replace the part. Easy fix once you know which part went bad.
