    Unable to run XP setup
    Hi,

I was using XP sp2 few days back after that my XP got corrupted and when I tried to install it again the setup was not running properly, I was getting file missing or any type of error but setup terminated every time. After that I installed fedora 10 but it is not fullfilling my requirements so I need XP sp2 back on my system. Now When I try to run XP setup only the initial message I can see "set is inspecting your hardware configuration" just after one second I find a dark screen and nothing happens after that. No eerror message but setup is also not running while fedora 10 is working fine and also installs again if I try that. Please help me to in this. I am facing lot of problems due to this.

    Thanks.

Are you booting from a Windows XP installation disk? If not, you should do that.

In that case, I suspect you have a hardware problem that is causing Setup to lock up.

The only thing I can suggest is to download some bootable scanner like memtest86 and scan for errors in your memory and CPU.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your nice suggestion, I resolved the issue. There was not such hardware problem, only that was due to mbr.
