    Hooking up a vessel sink
I'm installing a vessel sink atop an adapted wooden vanity (which started life as a night-table). We're raising the vessel up about four inches by constructing a box for it on top of the surface of the vanity.

My question is, can someone show me a diagram of the proper way to extend the drain pipe up to meet the bottom of the vessel sink drain? (No worries--I bought a special drain designed to go with the vessel sink, but it's not long enough to hook up with the trap.)

There are several types of tailpiece extensions. But the one you'll use will be a chrome extension with a compression nut , (see image) Most hardware or big box stores carry them. Good luck, Tom
