Hi
I have one of those dial faucets in our bathroom, and it seems to be leaking from the base of the faucet, where it sits on the back of the sink. There are no leaks on the underside of the vanity. It just leaks on the upper side of the sink, under the faucet, which tells me it is leaking within the cavity of the faucet itself.
I'm assuming that an 0 ring inside the faucet is shot. So I removed the decorative cap on top of the faucet, unscrewed the handle, then proceeded to unthread the faucet from the base. I've tried everything from plumber adjustable pliers, to vice grips, and I can't get the thing to budge. If I play with it anymore, I'm going to ruin the cosmetics of the faucet. Am I doing something wrong??

Here is how I see it, it it were leaking in the valve body itself, you would get water in the cabinet below. Watch closely as the water is turned on, does water run down from the aerator to the sink(following the spout). Do you have an even flow from aerator, or is it spraying erratically?
