    Maytag Dryer won't tumble
We have a Maytag Dryer Model DE7500. We have burned through two belts in a week. We are attempting to put a third belt on and believe we have it installed correctly but the drum still will not tumble freely. Could it be a problem with the tension? Where should the belt be positioned on the drum. We have it place within the groove toward the back of the drum which seems to be a logical place but it is not tumbling freely. Any suggestions? We hate to buy a new dryer when we believe it really is something simple.

    Thanks

    KISS

The diagram for your dryer is here:

Note that there is a snippet on how the belt should be routed.

First, You should make sure the drum, motor and idler spin freely without the belt installed.

Also check the alignment of the idler. You could have the idler installed wrong.
