    Carrier Weathermaker 8000 - Error Code 14
    I have a Carrier Weathermaker 8000, model # 58WAV111-16.

At the end of the winter last year, it quit igniting at all (or so I thought), and I simply let it go until the past couple weeks.

I replaced the ignitor, thinking it was the issue, with the following results.

The unit will ignite just fine when you first turn the thermostat on. It will run through an entire cycle with no issues whatsoever, but when it kicks off, it will not ignite again and I get the error code 14. If I turn the thermostat off and let it sit for a bit, I can repeat the cycle.

I have done a little research and noticed some people with a similar issue, with the suggested fix being to clean the flame sensor. I plan on doing this, but wanted to see if there is anything else it could possibly be aside from that.

I do not have a manual for the unit, as it was installed when I bought this home.

    Thanks a lot!

I cleaned the flame sensor and it seemed to improve the issue. The problem now seems to be intermittent.

The furnace ran all night last night, kicking off and on as it should have. I came downstairs this morning and tried to turn the thermostat up, but I did not hear the unit kick on. I removed the cover and found the LED showing error code 14.

I unplugged the power, turned off the thermostat, then applied power and started the unit. The burners lit, the blower started and the unit ran fine for 5-10 minutes, then shut off again, showing error code 14.

The description of error code 14 says that it is due to the flame sensor not sensing a flame and that ignition will try 3 times before a lockout occurs, but it seems that my unit is simply stopping without trying to re-ignite at all. It's kind of like the flame just stops being sensed in the middle of running and the unit shuts off?

Any ideas where I should look next? Anyone?

After doing a little more research, the furnace is actually stopping in the middle of running with an error code 33, before going to an error code 14.
