I Got a old dell laptop from my friend but I forgotten the password so it unable to unlock the laptop. Please tell me how to unlock it.

Is it a password your friend put on there? If so, ask him/her. If not, hopefully someone else will know how to get past it.

The passwords are there so that if you lose the laptop, you can't get into it again. There are only two ways to get into the laptop: 1) Get your friend to tell yout he password, 2) Reinstall Windows from scratch (Boot from the CD).

If this is a BIOS password, you'll have to reset the BIOS. That's usually accomplished by shorting something on the MoBo.

My friend unfortunately dead in accident,so I can't get the password . So that I asked you.
