It is possible to conceive at 50 years old. However, its generally advised that you go to a fertility specialist at this age because fertility can diminish over time.

A doctor can run some basic tests of fertility, assess your odds, and give you options.

If you haven't had any tests done to rule out getting pregnant then I would keep trying. Its harder to get pregnant at your age and may take longer.
    Keep trying!
    Good luck!

While it may be "possible" I would not recommend it. If you had a child now, when the child is 10 you are 60, assuming you live to be 68, the child will be getting out of high school.

I hate to be negative but I sort of agree here. Would you really want your child to lose it's parent while he/she is so young? Who will be there when you are gone? What about becoming a foster parent?

I have to disagree with respect.
The only time a baby should not be born is if it is not going to be loved or taken care of and we have no reason to believe this.
I think you'll be a wonderful mother and I think you should go for it.

At 50 the risks of Down's Syndrome and other anomalies is very high. You need to speak to your doctor about giving birth at this age as pregnancy and labor and delivery can be very hazardous to your health as well.

At age 50 will you have the energy to raise a child when your child is 10 and you are 60? When your child is 20, you will be 70. Again the risks of syndromes that include mental retardation are very high at your age. Will you be able to handle having a mentally retarded child?

I don't want to judge your decision because I believe each child is a miracle and "if its meant to be will be."

The previous comments are worth considering, however. If you choose to proceed, with your doctors blessing, you should prepare yourself for a higher possibility of severe medical difficulties.

Adoption, or even embryonic adoption are two possibilities you could discuss with your doctor.
