I am a UK based community mental health nurse specialising in older person care. For years I have wanted to start up and run my own EMI nursing home. Could anyone direct me in where the best place to start investigating this? At the moment it is still an 'idea' and I want to start building a business plan and be aware of what legislation and policies I need to home in on, including building my experience in the appropriate areas. I want to explore the idea and see if outside of my professional experience, the idea is viable for me(start up costs, running costs etc) Any help/direction would be appreciated.

The first thing that I would suggest that you do, is to visit with city officials as to what overall requirements, regulations, licenses and permits that you might need to have concerning setting up what you want to do.
