Do you know any rock songs that have references to the lord up above?
Stryper was a fairly hard rock band with a Christian mission
Look at this:YouTube - Stryper- "In God We Trust"
Doobie Brothers - "Jesus Is Just Alright"
Kiss - "God Gave Rock and Roll To You II", "Heaven's On Fire"
Whitesnake - "Here I Go Again"
You're welcome, here's a few more.
Warrant - "Heaven"
Bob Dylan - "Knockin on Heaven's Door"
Bryan Adams - "Heaven"
Led Zeppelin - "Stairway To Heaven"
Hi again, PAULERNY!
It would depend on a person's definition as to what is a "rock" song. If it has a beat that is a rock beat, than it's a rock song. Many churches have praise types of services where they use a drummer putting out a "rock" beat to songs. Such songs can be considered to be rock songs.
If you go to a praise service, you'll be likely to find a lot of rock music being used. Some of the tunes might be slow, and some of them might be fast. But, a lot of them are rock music, none-the-less.
Thanks!
Some of my faves:
Everything you Want - Vertical Horizon
The Truth of Beneath the Rose - Within Temptation
Counting Blue Cars - Dishwalla
Forgiven - The Calling
And that's all that came to mind...
