I am currently on unemployment and have been selected for an audit. The week they are auditing for is one in which I applied to part time jobs. Will this get me in trouble? I'm still applying to jobs as requested and hope this won't be a huge no no. It's what I could find that week.:confused:

Applying won't affect you at all if you work report it especially if there is a paper trail.

I can feel the pain. No, applying for part-time jobs is not a no-no; a job is a job as long as you report income accurately. The worst thing could be dealing with the 1099 at tax time since it is reported at year end.
An honest person has little to fear other than owing the IRS money.

Thank you. I've been following the guidelines of applying to required 3 jobs but wasn't sure if it would hinder me.

I'm already having taxes taken out of my unemployment checks. Does that influence my taxes at the end of the month?

If you actually earn money you just have to report any earnings
