    How to connect Laptop to TV
    I want to record TV programs on my laptop, is it possible? Then How?

    Yes it is possible. Basic TVs typically only have video inputs, so the first hurdle is contriving another video source to feed the laptop if the TV is to be watched while recording. This can be a second video output on a VCR or cable box or a splitter placed on the TV input feed. Next a capture device compatible with the laptop's peripheral ports must be obtained (USB and ExpressCard examples: WinTV-HVR-950Q, WinTV-HVR-1500). Last capture software must be obtained to record the video if no software comes with the selected capture device. Also, free open source Digital Video Recorder software exists (see MythTV - Open Source DVR, Wikipedia: Comparison of PVR software packages), however getting the device driver support sorted out for laptop hardware may be a challenge.
