    Probiotic culture
    Hi there,

This is my first post, and having heard of this site, I think this is very useful in terms of getting some answers down. I have a question in regards to probiotic a&b culture. I just bought a yogurt and was having trouble whether I should eat it or not. Is Probiotic culture vegetarian. I heard they are living organism. What does that mean. Any inputs. Thanks

Probiotic culture is dairy derivative, tohru29, a micor-organism, not a living organism as in animals. If you are a vegan who can eat dairy, then that is what yogurt is.

Our intestinal tracts already carry microorganisms, some more then others. They are called healthy bacteria that enables are system to process our food property. This expanation is from Wikipedia:

Microorganisms are very diverse; they include bacteria, fungi, archaea, and protists; microscopic plants (called green algae); and animals such as plankton and the planarian. Some microbiologists also include viruses, but others consider these as non-living.[1][2] Most microorganisms are unicellular (single-celled), but this is not universal, since some multicellular organisms are microscopic, while some unicellular protists and bacteria, like Thiomargarita namibiensis, are macroscopic and visible to the naked eye.[3]
