I need to obtain my criminal record fast for a new job. Our local Police Dept. says it takes two weeks. Any other way I can get it faster?

I guess you mean "certified" but generally it is done at the Registrar in your county seat.
Many employers do not even ask anymore here in NC since you simply need a bit of info and go to the Dept. of Corrections website for it virtually instantly.

Don't spend any money until you are sure that your company will accept the alternate source.

Have you tried the Sheriff's Office instead of the local police department? Usually you can walk in and walk out with your criminal background check in less than 1/2 hour.

I have never heard of someone bringing in their own copy of their criminal record. Are you sure that this is expected of you? The employer orders a criminal record and sometimes finger printing at his expense. Call and check about what you need and what thgey will do at their end.
