I have a friend that is in the process of adopting a child from Ca the father is not with the Mother and the child is due soon Mother wants to give the child to a relative in another state and Father is oppositional to this but he is the presumed father.

He is not paying any support or very little and is considering allowing the child to be adopted but still wants to have some contact with the adoptive family.

Does birth Mom have any obligation to him or can she release the child to the relatives since the relatives are working to have a attorney draw up the necessary papers

She absolutley cannot allow the child to be adopted without the father's consent.

In order to do so without consent, she will have to commit at least one felony (purjury) and the adoption will be open to be overturned.
