    Air lock in hotwater system
I recently installed a new bathroom suite which is fine but the hotwater flow reduces to a trickle after a few minutes I tried to remove air bubbles by putting a pipe from the mains tap to a hot water tap on the ground floor to flush any air bubbles out without success. I also drained down the cistern and when refilling it I left on the various cold and hot taps without any luck. What can the matter be as I had no such problem before the installation of the new suite.

You don't have a air lock my friend. What has happened is that when you installed the faucet you disturbed somen crud and minerals built up in your pipe walls and when you tested the faucet you sucked the debris up into the inlet ports of the cartridge clogging it. The solution would be to shut the water off, open up the faucet and clear and clear the ports. Before you reassemble the faucet turn the water back on for a moment to flush out the supplies. Good luck, Tom
