Attachment 25047I am trying to get information on this painting. It is signed"COLVIN". On the back of the frame there is a sticker that reads: The Kendrick Bellamy Co. Denver.". So far, all I know is that it is an original painting, and that the Kendrick Bellamy company was based in Denver in the early 1920's but they printed books and stationary, no mention of art. Is this painting valuable?? Attached is an photo of the painting and the signature as well as an photo of the sticker on the back of the frame.Attachment 25045

The only thing I could find out is that Clara E. Kendrick, a daughter of the founder of The Kendrick Bellamy Co. was an artist. It's possible that the painting is hers and the reason the sticker is on the painting is because of her family.

The dates match with Clara as she died in 1940 and this painting was painted in 1935.

The lot number is also important, sadly I can't find anything on the internet about it.

I couldn't find a Colvin that painted in that way with oils in that time.

Also, the fact that it just says Colvin leads me to believe that this isn't the artists name, there's no first initial.

This is all speculation of course. Sadly I couldn't find your painting anywhere on the internet.

As for worth, I really couldn't tell you. It's not a bad painting but really, from an artists perspective, it's really not that well done. It looks like an amateur artist.

Thank you for the info. How do you know this painting was painted in 1935? Is that what the 6/6/35/ means? The 6th day of the 6 th month of 1935?

That's what it looks like to me.

I'm an artist, I always sign the back of my painting and put the date. I can't think of it being anything other then the date.

I have this very same painting in the exact frame. I have not been able to find much more than the already stated

I have a shetch, south Western: little house and trees and can not read the signature. (lee Steuger?? ) It is 8/50. But it was framed by the Kendrick Bellamy Co Denver.
