I just hooked up my new 47" flat screen HDTV with direct Tv and Blue Ray disc ad its reading no signal. Did I connect it wrong? Not sure what I did

There's a LOT of different ways it can be connected these days. I don't know if we can help without seeing what you did.

1) Like Ex said what did you use to connect the cable box to the TV component cables (this cable has six connections) a HDMI cable (kind of looks like a USB for your computer but thinner)?

Did you get a HD box from your cable or satellite provider?
