    Hurt on Job
    Hello,
I got hurt on my job last August,I have a crush injury.I just settled on my case.Last July my sons mother filed child support. My first court date is in the end of this week.I have never had to go to court for this yet.Why would they put a lien on my check if I don't owe anything?I also have MoneyGram and Western Union reciepts that she had to sign to get the money that I have sent for my son since he was born. What should I do ?

I have moved your post, you posted your question as a answer to a two year old question, it would not get any answers there

OK, let me try to explain something to you and maybe it will help. The day child support starts is the day its filed for so in effect even though you don't have an amount to pay yet your in arrears from the filing date. That's why they are doing what they are doing. When you go to court and find out the accurate court approved numbers then you will know how far behind you may be. Have you looked online and gotten any basic ideas on what you might be paying ? The monies you have already sent may or may not be credited to you because it can be argues in some cases that it was a gift and not support. Take them with you and be sure to explain yourself.
