I remember very little about this movie, but I'm dying to know what it is. It was on TV, maybe showtime or hbo, when I was a kid, late 80's or early 90's. All I remember is a kid cutting peperoni or something, maybe cuts his thumb... I think I clearly remember that he pretends he is drowning and a girl saves him and he tries to kiss her... this all takes place at night. I wish I could remember more but this is it for now.

The boy pretending to be drowning and kisses the girl who saves him reminds me of the sandlot, but I think I remember which movie you are talking about. I will try to find out.
