    Drainpipe location
I am installing a new tub and the location of the drain pipe is about a foot further then the tub that was there before. So now I I need to connect up to the drain. I attached a photo to show the problem. I was thinking of an s-trap but I would still have to bend back around and I heard they might be against Texas,Houston plumbing codes. Any help please.

Don't understand your drawing. First impulse is to say ' Install the waste and overflow, install trap and then pipe to drain".

    Can you post a picture?

Yes, pleae post a pic, or give better description of your problem. Usually a lot more to it than meets the eye. Lee.

"S"Traps are outlawed in all codes and you can't be discharging major fixtures , such as a toilet or bathroom group, past a unvented minor one, such as your bath tub.
It MUST be vented. If local codes allow you might get away with using a AAV,(air admittance valve) other wise you're going to hafta run a vent on the tub. Good luck, Tom

I don't think that decisis really means a "S" trap. I think he means something like several bends in the drain pipe. Maybe we will get picture.

Thanks all for the responses but I busted up the concrete and cut the pipe far back enough to install the p-trap. Thanks again

OK! Now tell us how you vented it or was this a replacement that already had a trap and vent installed? Regards, Tom

Yea it was an existing drain, I just moved the tub over about a foot. So I had to the lower pipe trying not to make to many turns.
