Our small dog was bitten by a rattlesnake a few weeks ago... He survived.. But now where he was bitten on his neck he is losing all his hair. The vet says she doesn't know why he would be losing his hair (?).. so we have googled and searched and to no avail can find anything.. does anyone know if

Have your vet to a thyroid test (particularly T4 and TSH). Be prepared to give the dog thyroid pills for the rest of his life.

The coat may look worse before it gets better and it could take 5 months to get back to normal.
