I have a sears kenmore washer that all of a sudden just stopped workinmg after it filled with water. It did not start to agitate, just quit. It is about 5 years old at worst. Could it be an overload switch? Or does this machine even have such a thing. I was able to take out the timer but not sure of it is even that item that is bad? Can you help me out with this?

Make sure the red wire hasn't pulled out of the motor gangplug. Then I'd try replacing the motor capacitor. They are only a few bucks. Does it work in the spin and pump the water out?
