Please help. I watched an old war time picture one morning about 4am. Don't remember the title and didn't know the actors. Anywhoo, in the movie a man goes off to war leaving behind his anxious wife. He befriends a man in combat and he incessantly talks about his wife, so much so that the guy falls in love with her too. Supposedly the husband gets killed in combat much to the wife's dismay since he never returned. The friend comes back to deliver the awful news and comfort the wife in the hopes that she would now fall in love with him, which she does. Of course, it is later discovered that the husband was not killed but left for dead by the selfish friend.He returns to reclaim his love only to discover that she is with the friend now. Tensions escalate as the friend now wants to kill the husband. The movie was in b/w and I'm assuming it was WWII, but not sure. Please help me find this movie. Very well acted.
