Yes. There should be an automatic end to child support and you SHOULD be able to simply stop paying I've seen fathers - and I'm also in NY - pulled into Court for failure to pay.

My suggestion is that you contact the Court and ask. A lot depends on your relationship with your "x."

True. In Ohio I know that you have to keep paying child support until a judge orders you to stop paying it regardless of how old the kid is. Unbelieveable!
