How to store my refrigerator for 1 year
I'm going to have to store my side by side refrigerator for at least 1 year and need to know if I can leave it unplugged for that length of time.
    Thanks,
    Mjh

Yep. Clean it out. Clean the drip pan. Put a little vaseline or silicone plumbers grease on the gasket. Air it out if you can. Put baking soda, preferably in a shallow pan in the fridge/freezer.

In addition to Keepitsimple's answer, never store any other way except upright, Don't think that's a stupid answer, I have seen this done! The oil from compressor will enter lines and 9 times out of ten cause a restriction in the freon line when you plug it in. Making the refrigerator useless.

Sometimes they sit that long in the factory, warehouse, showroom, etc. before they are sold. Store-it-yourself buildings are full of them I'm sure.

KISS has some good tips listed.
