GM-Delco/heat, gas. Model #4926 450, house was built in 1959. What are specifications, size BTUs. I don't know how furnace size is rated, could this be 5 tons or less?

Air conditioning is measured in tons, 1 ton is equal to 12,000 BTU. Furnaces are measured in BTU. Look near the model # for a BTU input and bonnet capacity. If you told me area of country you live, building style, window condition and insulation in attic I could estimate what size you need based on square footage.

Call a local contractor for a rough phone bid, tell him you just need a rough price and size for budgetary purposes. I'm not sure what size you need in Georgia as I've lived in the far north my whole life.Quote:
