    Breaking a lease.
Hi! I live in Florida and signed a year lease.I am now 6 months into my lease and plan on moving across the countrydue to a work opportunity.

I first would like to say... I expect some kind of repercussion . I am not expecting my landlord to simply let me slide. However, I would just like to know what to expect. I will be giving him 60 days notice. Right off the bat... I don't expect to get a security deposit back(ofcourse) and I even anticipate paying an extra months rent. But what is typical?
    Thanks.

    Hello l:

You couldn't have picked a WORSE state for this to happen in... ALL other states require the landlord to rent the place as soon as possible to mitigate your losses - but NOT FLorida. Your landlord can just sit back and collect from YOU for the balance of your lease. I say collect - but what I really mean is SUE for.

Given that he holds ALL the cards, when I gave notice I'd offer at least TWO months rent as compensation..
