Can I sell house hold items that where bought before we got married
I live in Florida, Husband is working & living in LA. I got laid off and can't find a job. He is refusing to pay any of the bills: vehicles, utilities credit cards, or give me any money to live on until I find a job. He has asked for a divorce twice in the last 2 months... and then changed his mind. Keeping me upset and confused. Head games basically. Now he's getting meaner because I want to go through with it. My question is: Can I sell items that were bought before we were married so I have money? Can I get in trouble?

If they are yours, you can sell them. He has abandoned you and them. You should also file for divorce and immediate spousal support.

    Linitt,
I too live in Florida and went through a divorce where my ex wife went for the house and furnishings. She was from California where they have a community property law.
She lost! Florida law states that whatever you go into a marriage with you will come out with it intact. I owned my home before we got married so I'm still living in it and she's in a trailer back inn Modisto. If you had property or items before you got married they are yours to dispose of as you will. I wish you well. And dump your spouse, he sounds like a jerk. Good luck, Tom

If those things are yours you can do whatever you want so you can sell them, but if they are not for you don't touch them
