I am framing a basement batheroom that was roughed in when the house was built. The existing toilet drain seems close to the foundation wall. When I go to frame the finished wall what is my recommended and/or minimum distance from the finished wall to the center of the toilet drain? I can make some adjustments to how I frame the all to accomidate the necessary distance. Any help would be great.
You need a minimum of 12" from the face of the finished wall to the center of the pipe for a standard toilet -- You also need a minimum of 15" of side clearance on both sides.Quote:

The 10" rough toilets do cost considerably more, though, so if you can do a 12" rough-in, then I would suggest you do so.
When installing the (3") flange on the pipe coming out of the floor.. what is the clearance from the top of the flange to the bottom of the toilet to insure a proper fit for the wax ring? And should the flange fit on the outside of the pipe coming out of the or the inside of the pipe?

That depends. If there's enough room to slip a outside flange over the pipe that's the one I would use, However, if there isn't any space then a inside flange is needed. Good luck, TomQuote:
