Pressure problems for small water systems
We are one of five families on a small water system that shares a well. There is a small pressure tank at the well and we each have our own pressure systems. A neighbor installed a hose bib on a two inch line several feet from the well and used the hose bib constantly during a construction project. The hose bib was in use about ten hours a day for several months. My pressure system is several hundred feet from the hose bib. I believe that my pressure system was also supplying pressure for his construction since my electric bill was 30% higher during his project. Please explain the sequential draw on water pressure systems located on the same lines. Also please tell me if the well pump could have been damaged by constantly turning on and off because of the use of the hose during construction. We are now getting 5.5 gallons a minute from the system instead of 25.
