    I am having BIG problems
I think I am slowly crashing, if there is a such thing.:(
I have no "internet explorer", (thanks to Firefox, I still have access to the web),
Also no access to the "search" option after clicking the start,
Unable to use my printer for scanning/printing.
The IE box keeps poping up stating it has to close but when I try to open IE nothing happens.
The "yellow bar" that pops down to tell me to apply "activeX" control" in some sites does NOT pop down.
I have tried to re-install IE 7, with no success.
I was told to do something with my "connection" and I hear from someone else it is in my "regestry".
I try to do a "windows update" and again, nothing happens.

I am lost & have NO IDEA what to do, anyone have ANY ideas for me to try, please let me know...

Ok from these symptoms I'd recommend a complete reinstall.

Time to back up all your important data, dig out all your installation CD's, put a large pot of coffee on and take the plunge.

Uh... if you haven't already before you go through a big reformat and install check out if your problems are IE7 related. Many others are having the same and many more problems after installing IE7. Try going into you add remove programs and uninstalling IE7 and it should revert back to IE6 just as it was before you got IE7.
This may solve all of your problems.

Why they would release IE7 before they worked out so many bugs is a wonder.

    Hope this helps.

Or you could try rolling back your system to an earlier date.

    Excellent Point. :D

Actually she will probably have to do just that because installing IE7 and then uninstalling it seems to cause settings to not be set back correctly once it reverts back to IE6.

I had to first repair my connection and then also reset Google as my default search. Oddly when I hit my search button Google opened on the side window as usual, but when I entered a search term and hit the "google search" or "i'm feeling lucky" button nothing happened.

So I had to do a system restore.

Heck, when I first installed IE7 and then restarted my system and then tried to open IE for the first time it tried to open a Microsoft runonce.aspx page that would just load a blue page with no content and I got that little yellow "error on page" sign in the lower right corner of the page. It never would load my actuall chosen start page because it couldn't get past that Microsoft runonce.aspx set up page unless I entered the URL manually.
