    Garage wiring
    Revised question:
Im rewiring part of my garage with 12-gauge wire for lighting only. My question is this ,I used metal shield flex cable call flex MC has a black ,white and green wire in it, cable is flexable metal casing .I was wondering if this is with code for PA. I have my main power cable going into a switch box nailed onto the cinderblock wall then the mc flex cable comes out of the switch box up the cinderblox wall then through 4 joists then runs down one joist to two ceiling boxes where I will eventually attach 2 , 8 foot fluorescent lights.
Did I use the correct wire or should I have just use a non metalic-shielded cable. I used the metallic cable because I had to run the wires up the cinderblox wall and thought it be safer to use metallic shielded cable so then ran the entire run metallic. I will eventually be putting 5/8 drywall on the ceiling with non faced insulation on the ceiling,Will this be a concern with the metallic flex mc cable.
Sorry about the long story, but if I need to rewire anything it would be easier to di it now then later.
    Thank You
    Rob

Yes, MC cable should be just fine.
