How do you find your birth parents in a closed adoption?
    I need to know.

    Synnen

You get as much information from your adoptive parents as possible.

You then contact the adoption agency used and ask to leave a letter on file for your birthparents, if they are trying to reach you. You ask at the same time if a letter has been left for you.

Do the same thing at the courthouse/records department in the county where you were adopted.

Register on reunion websites. ISRR, adoption.org, and adoption.com are my three favorites.

And... get counseling so that you understand yourself WHY you are searching. Remember that birthparents in a closed adoption may not WANT to be contacted. Make sure that all contact if you do find your birthparents is done through a third party.

Why do you NEED to know? Is it for medical reasons? Or just to satisfy your curiosity?

    More information would be helpful.
