Hi I bought one of those energy efficient front load washers and have been using for about 8 months now every since the summer there has been a bad mildew musky smell coming out of it. I have checked the filters and still can't find anything. The manufacturer recommends running it empty before doing clothers but that defeats the whole energy efficient thing. Has anyone else had this problem?

It is common for front loaders because the seals / gaskets can trap water. Keep the door cracked open when not in use, and dry off any areas that look wet after a wash.
