    2nd bladder booster
I have a well, softener, and bladder tank 200 ft from the upstairs of my house. I have been told I can put another bladder tank in the house and it will boost myn pressure back up to the 65 psi at the well. Can't find any info to back this up. Thanks RJ

If the pipe between the well and house is inch or better, you shouldn't have much pressure drop at any reasonable flow. If you are having pressure problems, likely you have some crud in a line somewhere. I would try taking a few joints part and back flushing things.

If you can't find and fix the problem, or you have an old galvanized line, it may be cheaper to instal a bladder tank on the house side of the restriction. Your pressure would hold up good until you emptied the tank. Then the pump could eventually refill it. I had to replace my tank a few years ago. I forget whet it cost, maybe $100+. I doubt you can dig up and replace 200' of line for that. I see that as a kludge, but cost effective.

It is basically new construction, the line to the house is 1 1/4 but the softener after the bladder choked it down to 3/4 out at the well. My thinking is the second bladder at the house would bring the pressure lost at the softener back up.
