I was wondering, If in my family there has been miscarriages and my cousin can't become pregnant and has tried for a while and went to doctors to help her and still can't become pregnant. Does this mean because its in the family that I could have problems becoming pregnant or may not be able to either?

Just started worring about it because I so badly want children.

Have you consulted your doctor about this, but her mom, your aunt was able to get pregnant, or you would not have a cousin??

No I haven't been to the doctor.
I just wanted to see if anyone has had this concern before.
Its on my dads side of the family its his Brothers. (Dad has 2 sisters and 3 brothers)
Both of my dads Brothers have Daughters, which our my cousins.
Both have had trouble getinf pregnant and went to the doctor and spent lots of money One has had no luck or had miscarriages and the other has had triplets.

So I was wondering since I'm the other one would I have troubles becoming pregnant too?

Well I think all depends on luck , you shouldn't loose hope .

Miscarriages happen, that's a fact of life. Just because people in your family have miscarried doesn't mean you will too.

Also, just because your cousin can't conceive doesn't mean you'll have problems.

When you start trying and you've been trying for 2 years with no results, then you can start to worry. Before then you're just worrying about something you don't even know for sure.

Miscarriages are random events that often have little to do with family history.

Sure, there are some genetic diseases that would cause you to miscarry - and those diseases could be found in different family members.

Commonly, miscarriages are random and have nothing to do with disease, but with factors such as age, and quality of sperm and egg. For example, conception must take place in a very small window. If the egg has already started to break down in the natural process before it is fertilized, that could lead to miscarriage.

Basically, there are dozens of reasons for miscarriage and every woman has an equal chance of it happening to her. Speaking with your doctor and discussing your own history as well as your family history will help you assess the odds.

Just an FYI: I've lost 3 and none of my cousins have ever had a miscarriage. I have health issues they do not and vice versa.

Thank you soooo much!! This makes me feel a lot better. I will have to go talk to my doctor about this. I will try not to worry till Its been over a year. I just wasn't sure if that was possible because I knew it had happened in my family. I would love to have triples or any kind of baby's. So I'm not worried about that. Just conceving. Glad to help - since I lost an ovary I had worried about my own fertility for 10 years until we started to try for a baby and conceived. I know how stressful it can be to worry about something like that. :)

It is stressful, I just want to know if I can conceive and I don't have to worry. I hate the waiting to find out and to see. Well good luck to you and ill try not to worry. Thanks.
