Propane heater cuts in with a louder than usual whomp!
I have a "Comfort Centre" propane heater. The only issue is when the thermostat is turned up, there's a louder than normal 'Whump" as the propane ignites. The delay seems to let too much propane accumulate before the pilot lights the gas. Is there an adjustment I can make rather than my having to call for service?
    Thank you,
    Nelson

Yes, it sounds like there is a delay in ignition. This is gas and fire. Call for professional service.

I turned off the pilot light, allowed the (Thermocupler "?") to cool, and then cleaned off the carbon deposit around the unit with an old toothbrush.
Relit the pilot, and the heater cuts in with a now, normal ignition, i.e. no LOUD 'whump.'

(?) The unit immediately above the pilot flame.
