I have an employee who is in the process of filing a claim on me through the dept of workforce. My issue is this: first of all she stole her personal folder with all of the records of her previous write ups as well as signed documents for check deductions, etc. The last write up she refused to sign then later asked me for a copy of it. What can I do??

I don't know what kind claim she's making. You say in your title its for unemployment insurance compensation... I don't know what the dept of workforce is.

If you want to dispute the claim, I'm sure they sent you paperwork to fill out and submit, and/or they gave you a date where a hearing will be held. Just tell them what happened, and they'll make a decision.

If they rule against you, your rates probably won't increase unless you have had lots of claims...

If this is for something else, please explain in detail..
