My Boyfriend got me pregnant and then moved to another state.. I know his first and last name and the state/town he went to.. He won't have any contact with me (answer his cell phone) and I don't have an address for him. When my baby is born and I put his name on the birth certificate as father and file for child support will my state (ohio) take it seriously to trake down a man out of state (Georgia)? Will I have to hire a Private Investigator and find him myself? Im only 6 weeks but want to know what's going to happen or the best way to handle this. I plan to raise the baby myself in my hometown, I just want childsupport from him and preferbly full custody... After all, he left me in a rough spot. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Of course they will take it seriously enough. Knowing as much about him as possible will make it easier for them to find him.

Do you know his parents names? Other family members or friends that can connect you?

If he just moved, he won't be listed yet, but maybe he'll show up in the phone book soon and you'll be able to find his address.

Also, I know this may sound silly. But have you searched him on Facebook, Myspace, any other networking sites? It'll be easy to find him if he's got one of those sites. And sometimes those pages have rather incriminating things on them, so if he is a person that participates in unsavory activities you can use photos as evidence in your custody battle.

He does have a myspace which he hasn't logged into since 5/09 and he could take down.. I have his current cell that still works (he won't answer-return calls) that could be off in 8 months.. I do not have his Parents name or address.. All I have is His first/last name the city/state he was raised in and moved back to. And the company he currently works for and has for the past yr. (could change) Since were in different states now and I don't have TONS of info I feel I could be screwed here.

If you have his name and city and state, he can easily be found. Especially since he is working (and assuming he pays taxes). File your paperwork and they will find him to serve it.
