On wed, I did laundry and the water backed up into our shower and bathtub. It eventually went down. Then I noticed that the toilet wouldn't flush properly. I called a local plumber right away and they said they would be there that evening, they never showed. I called the next day and they said they would for sure be there thurs, never showed. Didn't show Friday either.
Now it's the weekend and I can't do laundry cause I don't want to make it worse. Is there something I can do until the plumber gets here? They obviously know that it's a blockage. We live in the city.

Short of snaking it yourself there's not much you can do. If you're in a position to rent a power snake and try it yourself I can walk you through the process. Want to try? Tom

Power snakes can be dangerous tools. If you use one I strongly recommend you have someone else on site to help. This is at least from my experience--it can tend to flip and wrap itself around body parts.

Well I'm just going to attempt to get someone here asap. I don't understand why someone can't just get here.
