    Boiler Conversion Oil to Gas
FOR MASSPLUMBER: Looking to replace aging oil boiler(20 yrs, but light use) with gas boiler. My current boiler runs at 80% efficiency, in your opinion, is it worth it to upgrade and to which type of gas boiler? I was told I would need about 150000BTU boiler. Also, what is the best way to heat water? I currently have direct heat with the oil boiler. Of course, cost is a big factor, in 2008 I was quoted in the neighborhood of $5000, too much for me. Is this what it usually costs?Included furnace and hot water tank. I know this is not a technical Q: you can email me directly if you want [email protected] Thanks

Give me some time to think about my best response and I'll post back soon.

It is forced hot water in an old moderately insulated colonial building. Thanks Mark
